Every Time
03:37
|
|||
I had another sleepless night I blame it on the moon
and it’s tractor beams sweeping around my room
hypnotic visions dance across my mind
and I’m looking for answers that I’ll never find
cause everytime the moon is full I hear it call your name
whispering to me once again I’m the one to blame
I’m a prisoner of lucid dreams shackled to the night
by a thousand memories hiding in plain sight
like cryptic phantoms holding rusty chains
they drag me back in time chasing shadows again
everytime that I believe I’m gonna be free at last
I turn around to find I’m dodging daggers from the past
words like knives aiming at my heart
piercing allegations like a poison dart
cause everytime the moon is full I hear it call your name
whispering to me once again I’m the one to blame
yeah everytime the moon is full I hear it call your name
telling me loud and clear I’m the one to blame

Blink
03:15
|
|||
the sacrificial lamb that’s hung out to dry
never questions the reason never wonders why
just marches to the altar faithfully
all in the blink of an eye
the walls are closing in tables turning ‘round
in a night of no return there’s tremors under ground
and the streetlight frowns a weary glow
all in the blink of an eye
there’s no fairweather friends on a stormy sea
abandoning ship the first sign of tragedy
cast adrift into the faithless night
the lighthouse hides it’s face from sight
the life of the party entertains an empty room
the clown paints on a smile over his face of gloom
and the circus is leaving town
all in the blink of an eye
gone in the blink of an eye

Crickets and Ghosts
04:46
|
|||
time forever slips away
along with promises of yesterday
fences are harder to mend
with barriers of iron that never bend
crickets and ghosts are all I hear
that roar of silence in my ear
whispers behind a door that’s closed
but all I hear are crickets and ghosts
involuntary reflex action game
a constant spinning roulette wheel of blame
pointing fingers when backs are turned
at the smoke from bridges being burned
shadows surrender to the night
choosing sides wrong or right
where do all unanswered questions go
they’re all searching for a yes or no
passive aggressive protocol
repressing feelings over all
never saying what’s really meant
just smiles and vague compliments
crickets and ghosts are all I hear
the roar of silence in my ear
whispers behind a door that’s closed
but all I hear are crickets and ghosts
oh I feel like the storm is getting close
when all I hear are crickets and ghosts

Stolen Diamonds
03:30
|
|||
oh her name is only sorrow
and her heart is black as coal
her eyes shine bright as stolen diamonds
and she’s out collecting souls
you’ll never see her after sunrise
she’s a phantom of the night
her raven hair is holding stars
shinning with a ghostly light
she walks alone in the moonlight
as the willows moan and weep
like the wind she whispers softfy
promises she’ll never keep
don’t call for her she’ll never answer
she’ll can't hear a breaking heart
she’s just a spectre of perdition
there’s no dream she ain’t torn apart
oh her name is only sorrow
and her heart is black as coal
her eyes shine bright as stolen diamonds
and she’s out collecting souls
oh her beauty captures souls

Hollywood
05:25
|
|||
fleeing from a broken home with a star studded plan
she reaches for the golden hills of the promised land
where visions of a privileged life live on a silver screen
determination drives her onward clutching at a dream
but Hollywood’s gilded sign is plated with despair
and a thousand shattered dreams are painted there
working at the diner buys a one room kitchenette
waiting for the lucky break that hasn’t happened yet
late night interviews on couches one step at a time
they parade them through the mill in a never ending line
her heart becomes a guarded prize a secret tucked away
a treasure locked behind a wall built up more each day
but the moat around her fortress is breached by a smile
a well rehearsed battle plan he’s done this for a while
he promises her a screen test in his latest show
but when he gets what he wants he kicks her out the door
so she spills all her lonesome tears in letters to the rain
and her childhood ambitions go spinning down the drain
broken hearted lessons posted on the wall
you gotta get back on the horse after you fall
so climbing high into the hills where the sign shines so bright
she fills up her broken dreams with it’s silver light
and though Hollywood’s gilded sign is plated with despair
the stars are still shining through it’s glare

November Moon
03:18
|
|||
oh cold november moon
with your icy silver beams
you froze my lovers heart
when you crept into her dreams
oh ruler of the night
enchanter up above
rhymes in lunar light
telling tales of wonderous love
hiding in the clouds
whispering melodies
behind a misty shround
telling lies in harmony
in midnight fantasies
you’re the king of make believe
collecting wayward hearts
in the tangled web you weave
my darling’s love was true
until she heard your song
now she looks for someone new
sleep walking until dawn

Kaleidoscope
03:23
|
|||
close your eyes and pretend eveything’s okay
take a stroll through the stars beyond the milky way
forgetting why you walked into the room
looking through a new kaleidoscope
making fabulous plans never getting done
filling out petitions and then signing one by one
gonna change the world just by what you say
looking through a new kaleidoscope
there’s room for all in this brand new today
as long as everyone thinks the same way
join the club join the team and blindly believe
with a wink of an eye and trick up the sleeve
where’s there’s gonna be a brand new tattoo
looking through a new kaleidoscope
down under the bridge cardboard box for his home
surrounded by the same yet he’s always alone
lost in memories of a jungle war
looking through a new kaleidoscope
looking through the same kaleidoscope

Silent Dream
04:12
|
|||
night time closes tired eyes heavy in a trance
the center of creation calls twirling in a dance
wishes turn into commands to rewrite the past
a frozen winters night painting pictures on the glass
racing back and forth in time barely skimming clouds
illusive voices call a name whispering aloud
the faces in the hall of mirrors could be your own
reflections of eternity calling you back home
enter and surrender to the soft comfort of sleep
casting nets of warm desires a silent dream to keep
waving ranks of golden grain catching drops of sun
autumn leaves in the wind seasons on the run
castles burn in fires of rage a kingdom to the test
men with lives disposable forever laid to rest
eyes behold a spinning world under watchful stars
as humans fight to be the first in their shiny cars
the ebb and flow of breathing life all choices are inside
the universe is standing by there is no place to hide
enter and surrender to the soft comfort of sleep
casting nets of warm desires a silent dream to keep

Wishes
02:51
|
|||
I wish I had a magic ring
full of galaxies and stars.
stars full of tears and smiles
smiles full of sparkling dreams
dreams of enchanted things
I wish I had a magic ring
I wished I lived by the sea
walking the beach at dawn
in dawn’s warm golden light
golden light on diamond sand
build a house of driftwood
I’d live by the sea if I could
I wish I was as strong as a tree
strong as roots in the ground
reaching through earth and stone
stone as old as time
time in seasons of leaves
I wish I was as strong as a tree
I wish I could touch the past
help the future make up it’s mind
and learn from my mistakes
mistaken choices I made
and choose the right path at last
I wish I could touch the past
I wish I could reach the past

Thirty Thousand Feet
03:49
|
|||
Hidden in a corner deep inside my mind
there’s a room filled with stories that was written there by time
the lock upon it’s iron doors opens now and then
I collect as many as I can until they close again
memories in melodies fill the empty glass
halfway full of future plans half empty with the past
Lessons that unfold in verse urging us to think
of how we see the water but still refuse to drink
the ration of our daily bread consumed before it’s served
the light of a twinkling star a thousand years since burned
I ride a lightning silver steed racing hurricanes
the saddle barely holds me on I clutch hard at the reins
the tempest whispers poetry rhymes in moaning sighs
a howling violent song of love in archaic cries
The world revolves around today following the sun
tomorrow’s only yesterday divided by the dawn
I’m halfway there three quarters gone wrapped in shiny dreams
circling the universe bursting at the seams

Travel On
03:10
|
|||
I hear the word goodbye
that you don’t have to say
I can see it in your eyes
when they just look away
travel on when little darling go where you will
tear my dreams apart
leave me stranded high on the top
of the hill of broken hearts
I dreamed our love would last
for all eternity
but my ever after plans
are ancient history
your kisses have grown cold
they just don’t taste as sweet
and the arms I used to hold
are folded in retreat
your heart has closed the door
between yours and mine
and your footprints on the floor
are all you left behind
