New Day 03:59
the clock is counting the hours down minutes turn into days the time I see in front of me quietly slips away the world is stilled by the smallest things my place here is in doubt and the life I thought I knew has turned inside out we were there once upon a time holding hands while we dreamed of a place where hearts get a second chance and we become destiny leave me here alone at sea the desert island that I am forsaking the shipwreck world outside for a castle in the sand I rode a wave on a moonlit shore to a land where vision bends I watched the moon and stars go by in a night that had no end a comet lights up the midnight sky in a smokey memory of shadows dancing in a firelight glow and your hand was on my knee leading me to a solemn vow to drink in the moment deep and live my life in the here and now until the final sleep

dangerous curves ahead high-ballin’ down heartbreak hill 90 miles an hour & the brakes don’t work and I’m just spinning my wheels ‘cause loving you is a one way ticket on a runaway train can my heart survive this frantic ride on the Cannonball of pain destination broken heart the last stop on the line the train derails emotions spill think I’m gonna crash this time I’m in too deep I’m losing sleep moving too fast to breath first class seat on the love express heading straight for tragedy
3.
I’ll take the blame for my mistakes the ones I didn’t make the chances I didn’t take and the hearts I didn’t break I’ll walk the line and be the one that stares into the sun I’ll wear a painted smile grinning in denial I’m cashing in all my regrets for ones I ain’t had yet I’ll roll the dice I’ll play the game Stick my hand into the flame I’ll pay the debt no matter the cost forget the things I’ve lost ignore the fool standing behind way back in my mind
4.
I walked around the world searching for a clue running through a barren canyon land I climbed way up high on a mountain side and slid down dunes of golden sand voices through the years echo in my ears saying vanity just turns to dust I walked around the world searching for a clue looking for a dream to trust I sailed the seven seas following a star I thought it had a story to tell I kept a watch all night for a sign of the times wishing on the stars that fell voices through the years echo in my ears saying vanity just turns to dust I sailed the seven seas following a star looking for a dream to trust I thought I heard the sound of a song on the wind singing in the starry night and it’s haunting refrain whispered my name tomorrow always hides it’s face from sight voices through the years echo in my ears saying vanity just turns to dust I thought I heard the sound of a song on the wind looking for a dream to trust looking for a world to trust

Losing Again 03:23
Just when I think the sun is gonna shine just when I think I’m at the front of the line just when I think everything will be fine I keep losing again Just when I think I really am the king just when I think that I’m gonna rule everything just when I think that I’ve grabbed the golden ring I keep losing again Every time I think I’m right on top I stumble on the truth and then I drop the door to success just won’t let me in I keep losing again Just when I think I’m finally gonna win just when I think happiness will begin just when I think my ship is coming in I keep losing again Every time I think I’m right on top I stumble on the truth and then I drop the door to success just won’t let me in I keep losing again just about the time I’m finally gonna win I keep losing again

mistaken intentions colliding dimensions where unresolved histories remain repressed emotions deep as the ocean undefined rules of the game (chorus) grasping at straws a smile may suggest affections that no longer remain as memories clutch the past the moment slips away never taking time to explain excuses embrace circumstantial themes while unconcerned eyes look away searching for a sign a reason to believe in a shadow of yesterday (chorus) brief recognition is no invitation to the place where the heart longs to return no opportunity for a second chance is a lesson it doesn’t want to learn (chorus) mistaken intentions imagined transgressions while unconcerned eyes look away

the sun is rising breathing day anew leaves drinking in the shine the distant sky bathes in it’s blue but it’s still raining here inside time limps along passing slowly by seconds chasing minutes playing through hours marching forth in uniform parade but it’s still raining here inside memories depend on continuity why can’t things stay the same one excepts the change another’s clinging on there’s so much emotion in a name the traffic light will smile it’s changing color beam the busy city rumbles through it’s day morning coffee breaks make their way to quitting time but it’s still raining here inside memories depend on continuity why can’t life stay the same one excepts the change another’s clinging on there’s so much emotion in a name a decision firmly made a promise that binds the cycle revolves and then completes the hardest step ahead a stumble at the close and it’s still raining here inside

you’re dressing up and putting on your fancy party gown heading for the neon colored cheating part of town I said I’d give you anything just keep me company but you just slammed the door and said there’s nothing you want from me So this year you’re getting what you want underneath the tree I’m giving you nothing for Christmas cause nothing’s what you want from me I work all day just like a dog and when I come home at night you’re still in bed with an aching head and you look a fright well I must be invisible cause you look right through me when you say as you walk away there’s nothing you want from me I begged and begged you for your love down on my bended knee stay home tonight and we can watch The Love Boat on TV I’ll take blue pills and give you thrills love you 3X3 but you just laughed at me and said there’s nothing you want from me

Outside 03:45
there’s a world outside my window far away and near of crimson sun and lucid dreams shining crystal clear fallen leaves and turning grass that carry days along while the seasons try to find the place where they belong I live inside transparent time where moments capture me illustrating different versions of reality people come and people go some just passing through a brief embrace then fade away except for me and you paint by number fantasies dance before my eyes coloring between the lines of visions passing by I saw your heart touching wilder things as shadows fill the air I watched the sound of music spring from the ribbons in your hair a melody of familiar tones singing history follwing this ancient path where we find memory there’s a world outside my window an eternity of sky imagination unrestrained when given wings to fly

what ever happened to the dinosaurs did they stare too long at a falling star whatever happened to their giant tails did they turn into a puddle that runs your car what ever happened to them old pharaohs did they fall asleep in their pyramids whatever happened in the mummy’s dream did they forget where their tombs are hid the hands of time the hands of time the hands of time history’s shaped by the hands of time whatever happened to the knights of old did they get too cold in their shiny suits whatever happened to their castles of stone were the walls torn down by marauding brutes whatever happened to the bounding main holding up the sailing ships what ever happened to the sea monsters did they wind up being fish and chips whatever happened to Aladin’s lamp did his magic carpet carry it away whatever happened to the Genie’s bottle holding wishes for a rainy day whatever happened to the musketeers with their blunderbuss and fancy hats whatever happened to the pied piper with his magic flute calling to the rats
