the clock is counting the hours down
minutes turn into days
the time I see in front of me quietly slips away
the world is stilled by the smallest things
my place here is in doubt
and the life I thought I knew has turned inside out

we were there once upon a time
holding hands while we dreamed
of a place where hearts get a second chance
and we become destiny

leave me here alone at sea
the desert island that I am
forsaking the shipwreck world outside
for a castle in the sand
I rode a wave on a moonlit shore
to a land where vision bends
I watched the moon and stars go by
in a night that had no end

a comet lights up the midnight sky
in a smokey memory
of shadows dancing in a firelight glow
and your hand was on my knee
leading me to a solemn vow
to drink in the moment deep
and live my life in the here and now
until the final sleep
